  • It is my understanding that probiotics do not replace enzymes that are needed for digestion. The by product of cellular metabolism of lactobaccillus bacteria is lactic acid, which helps to maintain liver function; specifically, the reticuloendothelial system, one of main components of the immune system. Certainly, they aid in constipation. The Activia ads do not lie! Activia is great for regularity. DanActive in the bottles support immunity. I recommend them in my nursing practice.

    1. Do probiotics help break down food? Example – Simple sugars? Wheat (Gluten), LACTOSE or milk sugars etc..
    2. Do they help at all with constipation?
    3. Will they boost my immune system?
